Movement has always been about more than miles, reps or results. It’s about how we feel when we move and how that shapes the way we show up in everyday life. This belief is something that unites New Balance and Sport in Mind
Whether it’s an early-morning run, yoga after work, or a midweek run club with friends, exercise plays a powerful role in supporting both physical and mental wellbeing. Increasingly, people are turning to movement not just to train harder, but to live better.

Movement as a Foundation for Wellbeing
Sport in Mind do vital work using sport and physical activity to improve mental health, wellbeing and social inclusion for people of all ages and backgrounds. By creating safe, supportive and accessible opportunities to be active, they help individuals build confidence, connection and resilience through movement
Regular exercise is one of the most effective ways to support holistic health. Physically, it strengthens the heart, builds resilience in muscles and joints, and improves energy levels. Mentally, movement has been shown to reduce stress, improve mood and sharpen focus – benefits that extend far beyond the session itself.
Practices like yoga encourage mindfulness, balance and breath control, helping to slow things down in a fast-paced world. Running, on the other hand, offers rhythm and release – a chance to reset, reflect or simply switch off. Different forms of movement serve different needs, but together they create a foundation for long-term wellbeing.
